Your Mid-South Coast Tour
Our tour starts on the southern shores of Botany Bay (Kamay) at Kurnell in the Kamay Botany Bay National Park, where Captain James Cook first came ashore on 29 April 1770.
We depart this historic scene for spectacular views of the sandstone cliffs that form the entrance to Botany Bay before proceeding to the Royal National Park, which was established in 1879 and is the 2nd oldest national park in the world, after Yellowstone in the USA.
This national park is a treasure trove of unique Australian native flora and fauna, with the occasional wallaby or wombat coming out to greet visitors.
As we leave the national park, we head for Grand Pacific Drive along the coast, taking in spectacular scenery and the Sea Cliff Bridge as we head for the famous Kiama Blowhole, which blows water 60 metres into the air in a grand show of nature’s power and drama.
This gives us time to enjoy a seafood picnic lunch at the nearby Fish Market whilst enjoying the sea breeze and abundant birdlife overlooking Kiama harbour.
From Kiama we head up the escarpment to Jamberoo Lookout.
Returning to Sydney we take time to take in the sweeping views from a choice of lookouts over the Illawarra Escarpment while we enjoy afternoon tea.
