NSW Central West & Weddin Mountains
Deep in central NSW lies a rugged crescent of cliffs and gullies known as the Weddin Mountains National Park. This stunning natural landscape is a popular destination for bushwalkers, nature enthusiasts and photographers alike.
Where History and Nature Meet
Visitors enjoy superb bush walking, camping, picnicking and visiting the historic Ben Hall’s cave where the bushranger hid from police during his short but colourful career.
Seaton’s Farm is a fully preserved depression era homestead set in beautiful parkland. Meanwhile, nature lovers take in the sight of wedge-tailed eagles, honeyeaters and wallabies.
The Weddin Mountains are not a tourist hotspot, and that is their attraction. This is a region that is still untouched by over-commercialisation or large numbers of visitors. It is a unique opportunity to be out in the Australian bush as it has been for millions of years.

The nearby town of Grenfell sits at the base of the Weddin Mountains and is a perfectly preserved gold rush town of the late 1860s. All is revealed at the town’s Pioneer Museum.
This is the town where Australian bush poet Henry Lawson was born in 1867, when Grenfell was awash with gold miners’ tents and diggings.
Options for visiting the Weddin Mountains include travelling via the Blue Mountains through Lithgow and Cowra to Grenfell and returning via Young, Boorowa and Goulburn to Sydney.
Alternatively, we can travel to Canberra and then on to Grenfell through Binalong before returning via the Blue Mountains to Sydney.

The Weddin Mountains National Park is home to a diverse range of flora and fauna, including over 140 species of birds and many rare and endangered plant species. It is also known for its unique geological features such as rock formations, waterfalls and caves. Visitors can explore the park through a network of walking trails that wind through eucalypt forests, past picturesque waterways and up to breathtaking lookout points. The park covers an area of 1,300 hectares with its highest point reaching 886 metres above sea level.
One of the most iconic features of the Weddin Mountains National Park is Euraldrie Falls, a spectacular waterfall that cascades over a rugged cliff face. Visitors can take a short walk to the base of the falls and feel the mist on their faces, or venture up to the top for a bird's eye view of the surrounding landscape.
In addition to its natural beauty and outdoor activities, Weddin Mountains National Park also offers opportunities for cultural enrichment and education. The traditional owners of this land, the Wiradjuri people, have a deep connection to these mountains and visitors can learn about their culture through guided tours and cultural events.
